Over
21 years ago, it was time to make a carefully calculated decision.
Expecting my first child brought the excitement of a new life
and also many important responsibilities, and decisions. I was
looking for a different way of life. I was looking for a community
that offered safety, community spirit, beauty and
ambience, a less hectic pace, good schools and plenty of recreation.
Having spent the summers of my youth at the beach house that my earlier
grandparents settled in the late 1800’s near Fox Island, I
had many fond memories and was very drawn to the Gig Harbor area.
Ironically, my wife also had relatives that had resided in Gig Harbor in that era… so after visiting, we decided this was it! Time to make the move. Being the owner and operator of my own restaurants for over 13 years, I was more than ready for a lifestyle change… or should I say, a life. Not wanting to return to this business the next decision was what then? It became clear after minimal pondering, that it would be Real Estate. It was somewhat in my blood already, thanks to my Mother. Real Estate offered a way to still work with people, which I always loved, provide me with a way to be part of my child’s life and help people make one of the biggest investments of their life. When I entered the Real Estate field in Gig Harbor, there were only a handful (if that) of Real Estate offices each with only a handful of agents. How times have changed. I have seen booms and busts in the market, growth management, shoreline management and land use regulations and more. I have seen many agents come and go as they decide that this job requires a lot more than just showing houses and putting up For Sale signs. I see many of the dedicated professionals, like myself, that are still out there representing the Real Estate industry in a positive and professional manner. I see that making a choice on which Realtor is right for you may be daunting, now that the industry standard is the mega-office. Like my decision to choose Gig Harbor, I came to the Prudential Canterwood Northwest Real Estate office looking for a better way of life after the mega-office experience. I am happy I did. This office allows me to showcase my experience and knowledge, to wear my professionalism and dedication like a badge, and to be proud that my sincere concern is to my client’s best interests. We found the lovely beauty of the harbor and it’s people, safety and security, the pace was a real relief, community spirit abounds, recreation is plenty and more varied than we imagined, and the schools have turned out to be excellent and beyond our expectations. So, please feel confident in knowing that I have experienced the change, and whether you are moving to another home or moving into the area, I have the background and experience to help you with the transition.
